This photography series is part of my Master’s research project exploring the unique and powerful learning environments of deafblind children at Kisoro Demonstration School, Uganda.
The aim of these series was understand and document not only the classrooms and physical spaces, but also the resilience, creativity, and quiet strength of deafblind children who navigate the world through touch, movement, and alternative forms of communication.
The images reveal the layered textures of their educational experience, moments of connection with teachers, tactile learning tools, and the subtle gestures that bridge silence and darkness with understanding.

My goal with this project was to raise awareness of the challenges and possibilities that shape the lives of deafblind learners in Uganda, while highlighting the importance of inclusive and adaptive educational practices. At the same time, I explored how communication design and 3D illustration can serve as interventions to make learning braille and sign language more engaging and accessible.
