Harmonic synergies consists of two permanent
installations that were co-created with deafblind
participants at Signo Conrad Svendsen Senter in Oslo.
The work translates lived experiences of the participants
into tactile storytelling, reframing communication
beyond sight and sound.
Each part of the installation is
based on the personal narratives of experiences of the
workshop participants such as a warm sun and heart to
represent family love, flowers to the bloom and smells of
spring, and bowls to express the feelings of lonliness and
emptiness that comes with lack of understanding from
the public and an interplay of a colorful background to
show the beauty within the cracks.

Material selection depended on durability, water resistance, and
ease of cleaning, combining metal, wood, 3D prints, filament,
and acrylic paint. The bowls were 3D-printed for precision,
consistency, and efficiency in producing multiple sizes while
other components were built. Magnets were used to allow puzzle
pieces to be easily attached and removed from the metal frame.
